Spray Tanning Tips

Best Practices and Spray Tanning Tips

When you go in for in-salon option, you can have a private spray booth or a personalized spray tan done by a technician with a spray tanning system. Getting it done in a booth is fast but there are some chances of missing out some areas. If you want precision, it is best to get the application done from a professional spray tan artist. On an average this application can take about five to 15 minutes and can be customized to your needs.

Get a test spray done once you decide on your method. It can require some payment but it is better to ensure that you like the color all over your body. Get the small part of the leg or tummy sprayed first to ensure that you like the color.  In case you are getting the tanning treatment for a big event, it is best to go for the test trial three or four weeks before the big day to make sure that you get a natural, desired shade.

Preparation for Tanning
If you want a clean smooth, effect for your spray-tanning experience, exfoliate with a body scrub that is oil-free and remove all unwanted hair. Do not apply any lotion as the cream can in fact become a barrier for the solution and the spray will not develop and color fully.

Give time for the tan to rest

It is a big mistake to have several layers of spray tans without allowing the earlier tan to fade away evenly. It is a good idea to mildly polish your body after every few days to ensure a natural, even fading.  Based on the turnover of your own skin cell turnover, a spray tan can last from five to almost nine days. If you want to delay the tan, keep away from water for long periods and to dry off pat your skin without excessive rubbing.
